Vietnam’s president on three-days visit to Denmark

The president of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang together with his wife landed in Denmark on Wednesday 18 September, where they will stay for a three-day official state visit.

On Wednesday they went to lunch at the Eremitage castle north of Copenhagen with HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and several Danish Companies. The Vietnamese president couple also experienced a classic canal tour in the old city of Copenhagen attended by the Minister of Climate Martin Lidegaard, and later they visited the headquarter of the Danish Shipping giant Maersk, Danish Broadcast DR reported.

The visit marks the end of many years with development cooperation and aid, where Denmark is among the countries to give Vietnam the biggest donations.

”The programme for the state visit reflects that Vietnam and Denmark have had a long and close cooperation in a historical perspective, the Royal Family said on their website.

Furthermore the visit should put focus on increasing the trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in the future, especially with focus on climate, energy and sustainable growt as well as education, culture and science, it said.
