Nordic exhibition at Hofex 2017 Hong Kong

In 2017 there will for the first time in Asia be a Nordic exhibition space at Hofex in Hong Kong, the region’s leading food & hospitality tradeshow.

A Swedish Pavilion is organized together with the Finish and Danish pavilions creating a 240-sqm Nordic exhibition space. Each national pavilion will have its own nation branding. By joining forces, the Nordic countries will create a platform for greater awareness and more visitors.

Business Sweden is inviting Swedish or Swedish-related companies to attend during 8 – 11 May.

Since the launch in 1987, Hofex has grown to become one of the leading international trade shows for food and drink. Hofex has brought Asia’s food and hospitality industry together on an extraordinary culinary journey which has seen its development into the highly diversified market place for which Hong Kong is renowned. This trade shows is not just a sales promotion event – it provides a platform for the industry and experts to trade, to exchange ideas and information on the latest trends and developments in the food and hospitality business, and for business networking.

The fair is providing a platform for over 2 500 exhibitors from 57 countries and regions including 44 official pavilions to connect with 40 000 regional buyers.

Hong Kong is the perfect gateway for re-export into mainland China, Macau, Taiwan and other neighboring markets in Asia. Hong Kong is dependent on import and almost 30 per cent of the import is re-exported into other regions in the area.

The Swedish Pavilion will be branded under the concept ‘Try Swedish!’ and is subsidized under Business Sweden’s Food From Sweden.

Business Sweden handles project management, coordination, communication with fair representatives, preparations and support for exhibitors during the fair.

Business Sweden’s representation stand, in the Nordic Pavilion, can be used for business meetings and networking.

Being part of a joint pavilion is a more effective and cost efficient way for companies to attract potential customers, writes Business Sweden.

Confederation of Danish Industry organizes the Danish Pavilion in co-operation with Danish Agriculture & Food Council, Business Sweden and Finpro. Denmark, Sweden and Finland have signed up for a 250 sqm Nordic area where the national pavilions will be placed next to each other. By joining forces, the Nordic countries will create greater awareness and will attract more visitors.

The Danish Pavilion is a turnkey solution providing a platform for companies to present their company and products as well as practical advantages in terms of the planning and participation in the exhibition.

Chinese consumers favour high quality food products and they tend to see the imported products as being of higher quality than domestic products. The Danish level of food safety and quality makes food products from Denmark a strong and popular brand among Chinese consumers.

“Hong Kong is a well-established trade port, and this is your opportunity to target the significant Hong Kong Tourism industry. Hong Kong is very much an English-speaking city, and is also the gateway into trade with China. Exhibiting allows you to meet with potential buyers, build trade relationships and gain market feedback for your products,” Finpro invites.

As a food import dependent market, significant trade opportunities exist for: Seafood, Edible Oils, Meat, Healthy and functional snacks, Dairy, Wine, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable, Healthy beverages, according to the Finnish trade agency.
