Rasmus & Rasmus from Schackenborg to Rayong

Chef Rasmus Lodahl & Chef Rasmus Vemmelund are two famous specialists in Danish cusine from the south of Jutland, the Danish peninsula connected to Germany in the south and sticking north out of Europe. Until 5 February 2012, the two chefs are in Thailand where they will prepare some of their Danish Food at the “Coral Reef” restaurant of the Purimas Beach Hotel & Spa in Rayong.
 Danes and others interested in trying out the creations of the two young Danes can stay overnight at Purimas Beach Hotel & Spa in Rayong at special room rates at 2,300 Baht net inclusive of breakfast for 2 persons. The special offer has been arranged by Mr. Suppanai Ratanaprakarn of Purimas Beach Hotel & Spa, who is well-known in the Danish community in Thailand as he is married to Mrs Mai Ellegaard of of the Danish travel insurance firm EuroCenter.
 Chef Rasmus and Chef Rasmus became wellknown in Denmark, when in 2010 they were appointed to create the Christmas banquets for Prince Joachim of Denmark and his family who lives on Schackenborg Manor nearby the Schackenborg Manor Tavern, where they both work.
 Prior to this, the two young energetic chefs had been guests in a Danish radio program on culture and cuisine. Their fame culminated late last year, when 4500 guests came to attend a lecture and taste the delicacies created by the two chefs at the Schackenborg Manor Tavern.
 Jutland is an agricultural land which produces many fresh and organic meat and vegetables. It is famous for its pickled vegetables which is used in many dishes.
 Rasmus Lodahl has a talent for creating the elegant main courses, while Rasmus Vemmelund goes for wonderful appetizers and unforgettable desserts.
 The two chefs are in Thailand as part of a “World Cuisine Project” that they have recently embarked upon. The purpose is to gain a personal knowledge about food and culture around the world.
 The agreement with Mr. Suppanai Ratanaprakarn of Purimas Beach Hotel & Spa is that in exchange for getting hands-on training in the secrets of the Thai multi-cultural cuisine at the hotel, the two chefs will prepare their famous Danish Southern Jutland food at the “Coral Reef” restaurant of the Purimas Beach Hotel & Spa throughout January and the beginning of February.
The last day of the Danish Food promotion will be on 5 February 2012.
