Danish envoy gets farming honor

Danish ambassador to Viet Nam, Bjarne Sorensen, has been awarded the “For the Cause of Agricultural and Rural Development” medal for his contributions to Viet Nam’s agricultural sector.
      It has been reported by the Vietnam News that the medal was presented by the Acting Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cao Duc Phat, in Hanoi in mid July.
      As Denmark’s ambassador to Viet Nam for three years, Sorensen has helped to implement many co-operation programmes worth a total of US$200 million between international and Danish organizations in Viet Nam.
      He recently signed a commitment of US$ 4 million for a project to supply safe water and ensure rural hygiene in the central province of Nghe An.
