Book Launch at the Royal Danish Embassy

The Danish Ambassador to China, Friis Arne Petersen, hosted yesterday’s event for diplomats, architects, designers, and media. The book consists of small chapters that depict each country’s contributions.

“I’m especially glad to see how “The Unbeatable” depicts the Danish contribution to Shanghai Expo made by architect, Bjarke Ingels. The chapter clearly shows how he demonstrates that sustainable living can be more attractive than non-sustainable living. China brought the world together on a 5.28 square kilometre during the Expo. We hope that trough the Danish EU Presidency we can strengthen intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, as the EXPO in Shanghai did.” says the Ambassador.

The Shanghai EXPO had 73 million visitors over 184 days, and thus it became the biggest Expo the world had ever seen. 214 countries were invited to present the best of their cultures that could contribute to the EXPO theme “Better City, Better Life”.
