MASBA’s Rangkaian Networking

”Rangkaian” in the Malay language means networking. The Malaysian Swedish Business Association (MASBA) is arranging six such networking events for the Swedish business community in Kuala Lumpur every year.  These Rangkaians, which have replaced the previously held pub evenings, have in a short time become very popular.

The event on Thursday 26 April 2012, sponsored by Nordea Bank and Swedish-Malaysian consulting group Portensis, was attended by almost 50 persons and was held at The View of Serai Saujana at the Saujana Resort, next to Saujana Golf and Country Club just outside Kuala Lumpur.

Hans Björnered, President of MASBA, welcomed the guests and both Eric Christian Pedersen of Nordea Bank of Singapore and Jan Orrnert of Portensis presented a brief profile of their companies before the group enjoyed a large buffet with beer and good wines.

As it was a networking evening, a lot of business cards changed hands.

New hands were shaken and new faces became familiar faces.

According to guests, the weather and view were enviously fantastic. The Indian food was spicy and nice. The guests also indulged in ”on the spot cooked food”. The warm weather was quenched with chilled beer and excellent sparkling wine. The ambience was aided initially by Yanni’s music in the background and later complemented with birds songs. Finally the guests finished off the night with the natural night sounds and the cool wind creeping in from the golf course.  It was a Rangkaian to remember.
