Sweden aids health care projects in Viet Nam

The Swedish government grants non-refundable aid of 48 million SEK (6.154 million USD) in July to a project on health care for poor people in Tay Nguyen, the Central Highlands of Viet Nam.
      The Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Vietnamese government together provided the sum of 30.58 million USD for the five-year project (2004-2009).
      The aid will be used to upgrade infrastructure and equipment for provincial hospitals, policlinics and 16 district-level medical centers as well as train medical workers and technician in the region. This will improve the quality of health care services and develop medical systems for the poor and ethnic people in the Central Highlands.
