Danish Prime Minister Invited to China

The Chinese government invited Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt to China from 10 to 13 September this year. The invitation followed President Hu Jintao’s visit to Denmark in June this year which marked the first visit by a Chinese head of state.

Besides political conversations with representatives of the Chinese leadership, PM Thorning-Schmidt will meet with independent representatives from the Chinese civil society.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a number of senior leaders of Danish companies and organisations with the aim to promote Danish business interests in China.

Helle Thorning-Schmidt will also visit Danish companies in Wuqing and Shanghai during the course of her visit. She will also be speaking at the World Economic Forum in Tianjan, with topics about Danish sustainability, the European debt crisis and competitiveness.
