JJ-Lurgi offers bio fuel as alternative energy source

While bio fuel is gaining steady ground as an alternative to fossil fuel, as organisations bow to increasing price and environmental pressures, JJ-Lurgi Engineering Sdn Bhd is marketing the technology to exploit bio fuel to meet rising demands for alternative energy sources in the agricultural sector.
JJ-Lurgi Engineering is a joint venture between Jebsen & Jessen Process Engineering (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Lurgi Life Science GmbH of Germany. The joint venture offers innovative technology that focuses on the processing of renewable raw materials which include oil seeds, edible oil, oleochemicals, starch and starch sweeteners.
Bio fuel comprises plant material and animal waste from which energy can be produced. Two examples are bio diesel and bio ethanol.
Bio diesel is a clean, renewable fuel, which can be a stand-alone product or blended with its fossil equivalents in diesel vehicles. The feedstock for bio diesel production is derived from either palm oil or seed oil.
Bio ethanol can be used as a replacement for MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether) as a motor fuel additive (oxygenate) or blended with regular gasoline. It comes from sugar in cane and beet or starch in corn and cassava.
The market potential for bio fuel is especially high in Asian countries with strong agricultural sectors. JJ-Lurgi has already received numerous inquiries to provide technical solutions and set up bio fuel plants.
