The Scandinavian Weeks guesting the three capitals are each a week of dinner shows with top artists and jazz bands from Scandinavia and a top class Scandinavian buffet or Smorgasbord prepared by one of Scandinavia’s best chefs. This year Erling Ribbing Quartet from Sweden will provide the entertainment together with Danish singer Susanne Cal while world class guest chef Jonas Grip from restaurant “Vasa Museum” in Sweden will oversee the kitchen regions.
Chef Jonas Grip promises a truly Scandinavian buffet with dishes from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland… both hot and cold dishes, meats, fish, soups etc. as well as desserts, pastries and breads.
The Scandinavian Week initially started in Kuala Lumpur 15 years ago when Mr. Hans Wetterberg initiated a Swedish Week there. The concept has since 2001 developed to be a truly Scandinavian experience which has been held in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Beijing, Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Kuwait City, Manama (Bahrain), Prague, Ankara, Warsaw, Casablanca, Vancouver, Calgary, Abu Dhabi and even in Stockholm and Copenhagen! In many cities the Scandinavian Week is an annual event which Scandinavians and locals alike enjoy tremendously. For many sponsoring companies the “Week” provides a great opportunity to hold business meetings during the day followed by an evening of authentic Scandinavian food and music or simply give their customers and associates a good night out.
This year’s events will take place at the InterContinental Singapore, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and at Shangri-la Hotel Bangkok.
