Finnish dance at Salihara Festival in Jakarta

Held on 22 September to 24 October, the fourth “Salihara Festival” features great performance art from many countries around the world. This year, Finnish Susanna Leinonen Company will perform on 12 – 13 October on Salihara Street in South Jakarta.

Established in 2001, the dance group is known for strong, unique and universal choreography. They will present two performances during the festival which are “Trickle, Green Oak” and And “The Line Begins to Blur”.

The first Finnish performance is choreography of four dancers using ballet movements. The audience will see the contrast between the white tutus and the black backdrop. The second will feature a performance from seven dancers whose movements symbolize the power of the dark past and hopes for the future.

The Salihara Festival is a biennial event. This 4th edition will present performances by numerous art groups and companies from Indonesia, Australia, the Netherlands, Finland, Canada, and Spain.

Salihara is located at Jl. Salihara No. 16, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. Precisely, Salihara is located between the campus of Universitas Nasional and Balai Rakyat Pasar Minggu. GPS: 6°17’1”S 106°50’17”E
