PMs promise to boost Vietnam-Sweden trade, investment

The Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson, the head of the Swedish delegation in ASEM 5 summit in Hanoi was received by Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai on October 8.
     Khai appreciated the Persson’s joining in ASEM 5 and the trade and investment cooperation relations between the two countries during the last years. He expressed the gratitude to the support of Sweden government and people to Vietnam during the last years, especially asked the Swedish government to give measures for boosting cooperation, investment and trade relations in accordance with bilateral politic relations.
     Persson also appreciated the bilateral traditional relations and Vietnam’s achievements in the renovation process. He promised that Sweden and Vietnam will create all favourable conditions for increasing investment of the Swedish enterprises in Vietnam and especially further more development of the bilateral trade relations.
     Khai also expressed the wish to receive Sweden’s support in early ending bilateral negotiation for Vietnam’s access to World Trade Organisation and inpermanent candidate of United Nation Security Council for 2008-2009.
     On this occasion, Persson also invited Khai to visit Sweden.
