Green City Denmark Conference organised in HCMC

A Green City Denmark Conference was jointly organised by Green City Denmark, the Danish Trade Council and the Royal Danish Embassy on October 13, in Ho Chi Minh City. The conference was attended among others by Minister for Environment and Natural Resources of Vietnam, H.E. Mai Ai Truc and Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Peter Lysholt Hansen.
     During the conference, representatives from the Vietnamese authorities had the oppotunities to present their assessment of the challenges to be addressed in the coming years. In turn, the Danish companies offered advice and up to date solutions in such areas as water supply and treatment, waste handling systems and how to properly fit in these facilities into proper urban planning, etc.
     At the conference, Mr Peter Lysholt Hansen expressed his belief that the presence of many important representatives at the conference boded well for the outcome of the dialogue there in Ho Chi Minh.
     The conference might be considered a start in the process of enlarging the existing cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark in environment. He was sure that only through a consistent follow up dialogue, they would be able to assist in creating the sustainable Green Vietnam they all wanted to see.
