Defence minister holds talks in Singapore and Bangkok

Sweden’s minister of defence, Ms Leni Björklund, visits Singapore and Thailand between 16 and 20 November.
     In Singapore she will have talks on the 16th with her Singaporean colleague Teo Chee Hean and visit Changi Naval Base, a Flight Simulator Centre and the Armed Forces Centre for Military Experimentation.
     The second day in Singapore includes a luncheon hosted by SBAS and a visit to the Defense Science Organisation and the Underground Ammunition Facility.
     On Thursday the 18th she will conduct bilateral negotiations with the Royal Thai Air Force commander, ACM Kongsak Vantana.
     The last day of her visit includes bilateral talks with her Thai colleague, Sumpun Boonyanun, a visit at a Royal Thai Navy base and a luncheon hosted by the Swedish embassy, with the minister as keynote speaker.
     Sweden and Thailand are currently having talks about a possible Saab JAS Gripen jet fighter deal for the Royal Thai Air Force.
