Pergo enters licence agreement in Malaysia

Swedish flooring company Pergo has signed a licence agreement with Robina, a leading laminate flooring enterprise in Malaysia.
The deal, which gives production rights for Pergo’s click-joint system SmartLock, will create new income for Pergo.
Another related settlement, reached in November 2005 with the company Unilin, is expected to benefit Pergo’s earnings.
That settlement, which solved their mutual patent issues and acknowledge each other’s patent rights for glue-free joints, made the Robina deal possible.
During this year the effect of both agreements is believed to amount to approximately SEK 15 Million and for 2005 around SEK 30 Million.
Robina is an industrial group working with wood processing in China and Malaysia. Its business includes manufacturing and sales of medium density fiber board, engineered wood and laminate flooring.
