Singapore’s largest local mass transit bus operator, SBS Transit, has awarded Volvo Bus an order for 150 double deck buses.
This is the first large contract for Volvo’s new chassis for double deck buses, Volvo B9TL. A main feature of this chassis is that passengers basically can walk in and out of the bus comfortably, without climbing any high stairs.
All chassis are built at Volvo’s factory in Borås. The bus bodies are made by ComfortDelGro Engineering in Singapore.
Deliveries begin this August and run for the next twelve months.
