Books on Lao business with Nordic support

Twelve textbooks in Lao on Marketing Management and Human Resource Management were recently published by the Business Development Officer of the Mekong Project Development Facility (MPDF) funded by among others Norway and Sweden through the Asian Development Bank. MPDF is managed by IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank.
MPDF have previously printed the books in Vietnamese and Cambodian language as well. These two series were launched in Vietnam and Cambodia in 2001 and to date more than 47,000 copies have been sold. Some 40,000 copies were sold in Vietnam and 7,000 copies were distributed in Cambodia.

The MPDF initiative was set up to boost the establishment and growth of the private sectors in Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao PDR.
In Laos, the launch was held on November 6 at the World Bank office in Vientiane. The cost is 22,000 kip per book and people can buy it at the Morning Market’s book shops and Pankham Hi-Tech book shop at Dongpalan village. The books aim to improve business skills of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Laos.
