The Swedish golf fashion brand JL, founded by Johan Lindeberg, backs up a new golf tournament in the city state.
Named the 2005 J. Lindeberg Cup Challenge, it is held 27 October at Laguna National Golf & Country Club.
Golf entrepreneur Mark Chin, who took the brand to Singapore, is the driving force behind the tournament.
“The idea is to promote JL to a new level in Singapore. Every two months, there is a Vikings Cup golf event organized by Mr. Henrik Bernander, Managing Director of Klippan Paper Asia Pte Ltd, where 50 over Scandinavians gather for a competitive round of golf. Whilst trying to figure out what to do for our JL golf event, I thought why not organize something for our JL customers & supporters and have a golf match-play between the Vikings and us, Team JL Asia ?” says Mark Chin who expects a full turn out of 144 golfers.
