Jotun aims to boost share in Malaysia’s decorative paints

Peder Bohlin, Jotun (M) Sdn Bhd’s managing director and regional director for South East Asia, told Malaysian news agency the Star that the company aims to reach 20 per cent share for decorative paint market which they are now holds 15 per cent market share, reported on 19 September.
         Jotun’s main business spans across three segments: architecture and decorative paints, marine coatings and protective coatings.
         Marine coating and protective coating each makes up about 35 per cent.
         “We believe we are number one in marine and protective coatings. Our target is to achieve a 20 per cent market share (in decorative paints),” Mr. Bohlin said.
         Mr. Bohlin added that the company would achieve this target through growth of their multicolour centres, product innovation and staff development.
         Peder Bohlin said the company had been a pioneer in multicolour centres and aimed to maintain this position through establishing new centres from year to year.
         Multicolour centres allow customers to pick and choose virtually any colour hue and create colours of their own choice in real time.
