To the surprise – and relief – of both the Danish travel industry and Phuket’s tourist vendors, last year’s Tsunami has not destroyed the Danish desire to go to Thailand. On the contrary. With almost 70,000 vacations already sold, the upcoming winter season looks to see the highest amount of Danes travelling to Thailand in years.
Sales Executive of the Danish travel agency Star Tour, Mr. Stig Elling, says that this winter has brought a higher demand on travels to Thailand than in the last three winters. Like many other travel agencies, they have sold out all the tours they had planned – however, some agencies might create more offers to meet the record high demand.
