Royal Danish Embassy Hosts Alumni Evening In Bangkok

The Royal Danish Embassy hosted a Danish-Thai alumni evening January 24 in Bangkok sponsored by EAC, giving some 70 Thais who have studied, lived or worked in Denmark a chance to meet, re-unite and remember the ‘good old days’.
The event began with a welcoming greeting by Leo Alexandersen, president of the Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce. He greeted old and new members of the alumni, and noted that he was pleased to see the alumni were growing in number with more than 130 members.
Then, acting alumni committee chairman Mr. Sawaeng Kongpetsak delivered his speech in Thai and in Danish and expressed the idea that the alumni are now a focus for all friends of Denmark from Thailand to continue and strengthen relationships and continue culture exchanges between the two countries.
Chairman of the Population and Community Development Association (PDA) Khun Meechai Viravaidya, then gave a talk on the post Tsunami relief projects operated by the PDA.
Danish ambassador to Thailand H.E. Ulrik Helweg-Larsen also delivered a brief welcome to the guests.
