Denmark’s ISS Acquires Security Company in Thailand

ISS Facility Services Co., Ltd.  – a unit of the Danish ISS Group – has entered an agreement to acquire MPA Security in Thailand for an undisclosed amount.
MPA Security, owned and managed since 1984 by Danish businessman Henrik Hansen, is the second largest guarding and security company in Thailand.
The agreement between ISS and MPA was reached late January and the two sides have yet to officially announce details of the deal.
But Preben Laustsen, General Manager of ISS Facility Services Co., Ltd confirmed his company had acquired MPA, adding that as negotiations had only just been concluded, the parties had not yet formally announced the sale and acquisition.
MPA was established in 1955 but it has since Henrik Hansen took over as president and CEO in 1984, grown ten times in size with a turnover today of 300 million baht, and more than 3000 employees in Thailand alone. There are a further 2500 employees in Cambodia and India.
Clients of MPA Security include airlines, factories, embassies, shopping malls and private individuals in need of security.
ISS currently employs more than over 6,000 people in Thailand and with the acquisition of MPA, this figure be closer 10,000.
