On 16 December 2005, an agreement to support a “Sustainable Mekong” program was signed between SIDA and SEI. The agreement, a three-year collaboration between SENSA and SEI, aims to help the transition to sustainable development in the Mekong region.
The program seeks to pursue this objective by supporting a constant flow of independent, regionally-derived and policy-relevant knowledge on key dimensions of sustainable development.
To this end the regional research network, Sustainable Mekong Research Network (Sumernet), will be supported and strengthened.
Sumernet is an association of existing regional research and policy institutions.
