Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, Jonas Hafström, together with Norwegian Ambassador to Thailand, Merete Fjeld Brattested, and Governor of Phuket Province Udomsuk Assawarangkul presided over the opening of the Royal Norwegian Consulate General and Consulate General of Sweden in Phuket April 26.
Mr. Alf Karlsson is appointed to be Swedish Honorary Consul General while Norway’s Acting Consul General in Phuket is Torbjørn Norendal.
The consulates will provide consular assistance to Swedish and Norwegian citizens in Phuket and nearby provinces.
Opening the new office, Sweden and Norway moved their consular offices from Pearl Village Hotel, opened after the 2004 Tsunami disaster in the south of Thailand and will share the city center office and contact telephone numbers.
