Denmark’s Gade Wins First Match Against Malaysia

BADMINTON – Denmark got off to the best possible start in the Thomas Cup semi-final against Malaysia, when Danish star player Peter Gade defeated the world’s 2nd ranked Lee Chong Wei with a scoreline of 21-19, 21-18.
     It was an exciting and well-played match between two of the world’s best badminton players. Peter Gade had the upper hand in both sets, but Lee Chong Wei fought his way back in both sets, thus keeping the excitement alive until the very last game. With this victory, Denmark now leads Malaysia 1-0 before the men’s double later today.
     Whoever comes out the overall winner will face China, who defeated Indonesia in the other semi-final earlier today.
