A delegation of international cultural experts were welcomed Thursday in Hanoi by Vietnamese Minister of Culture and Information Pham Quang Nghi. The delegation, led by Sweden’s Minister of Culture Bengt Goransson, includes researchers from Finland, China, and South Korea.
During their week-long visit to Vietnam the delegation will survey and evaluate a National Report on the State of Vietnamese Culture, which is a scientific report about the reality of Vietnamese cultural life across the country. The delegation aims to exchange experiences with Vietnamese experts on building policies of cultural development linked to real life.
According to the local news agency Viet Nam News, the Institute of Culture and Information was assigned by the ministry to implement a Vietnam-Sweden co-operative project from 2002-2004 on compiling the National Report on the State of Vietnamese Culture. The ministry will submit the report and the assessment of the Swedish-led delegation to the relevant agencies.
