Finnish Pöyry Awarded Contracts in Laos, Thailand

Finnish Pöyry business group has been commission by South East Asia Energy Limited of Thailand to serve as independent engineer during the implementation of Nam Ngum II hydropower scheme in Laos.
The project will produce electricity for the Thai power grid and sell all the energy to the Electricity generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The value of the assignment amounts to EURO 8.9 million. The new hydropower plant will start supplying energy to the Thai grid in July 2010.
The project site is located upstream of the existing Nam Ngum I hydropower scheme about 100 km north of Vientiane.
Meanwhile, the Finnish Pöyry business group has been awarded for two more contracts in Thailand.
First, it has got an owner’s engineer contract by Sime LCP Power Co., Ltd for a new natural gas fired combined cycle cogeneration plant in Thailand. The contract value is EUR 1.1 million and the project will be executed over a period of 22 months. The plant is located in the Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi province of Thailand.
Also, Pöyry has been awarded the construction and supply contracts for the upgrade and refurbishment of two gas-fired boliers by Glow Energy Public Co., Ltd. The value of the assignment is EUR 1.6 million and it will be executed over the period of seven months. The assignment includes the construction and supply services for two gas-fired boilers of a boiler plant located in the Eastern Industrial Estate in Mab Ta Put, Rayong province of Thailand.
