Sawasdee Malaysia Exhibits At La Luna

Sawasdee Malaysia – Five Men and one Master – exhibition will take place at La Luna Gallery in Chiangmai, Thailand. The exhibition, which displays works of some Malaysia’s most exciting artists, will start from July 14 to August 31.
“It has become a tradition that each year at this time, we highlight art from another country in the region,” says Director of La Luna Sommai Lumdual.
“After Vietnam and Myanmar, the time has come to welcome Malaysia, which has a lot of talented but, in Thailand, fairly unknown artists”.
Among them are Europe-based Charles Cham and last year’s finalist from the Sovereign Art Foundation competition in Hongkong Eng Hwee Chu.
Eng Hwee Chu has also won a Philip Morris Grand Prize and has had solo and group exhibitions at the National Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
Furthermore, Ng Foo Cheung, Soon Lai Wai and Lim Ah Cheng will also participate in this event, as well as Jansen Chow, who is a new artist exhibiting impressive watercolors and oils of street scenes and landscapes.
La Luna Gallery is the centre for contemporary and abstract art in Chiang Mai and presently promotes arts from Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippines. Danish Lasse Norgaard is one of the three partners of the gallery; along with Sommai Lumdual from Thailand and Joanna MacLean from New Zealand.
The gallery is opened everyday 10 am – 8 pm except Mondays, which is by appointment only and it is located on 190 Charoenrajd Road, Chiangmai. Tel: +66 (0)53 306 678
