Children Enjoying The New Sponsored Playground At The Scandinavian Church.

Every Wednesday afternoon the Scandinavian Church at Sukhumvit Soi 33 lends its facilities to something a little different from your usual service.
Around 3 pm the garden comes to life with laughter, shouts and yelling. It is the Danish children conquering the playground and everything else that can serve as basis for playing. Every week Danish Women’s Network hosts a playgroup for Danish children between the ages 1 and 8.
For a few hours mothers and children are having a good time, enjoying each others company and the oasis of the church. The level of activity is high (at least the children’s…) and the children certainly make use of the playground to its fullest. And mind you, this is not your ordinary rusty, dangerous and rundown playground! It is a wonderful, brand new, safe playground entirely made out of wood.
Thanks to the generous sponsors; Danske Bank, Bangkok Nursing Home, Nordea, Oriflame, Jepsen & Jessen, Rambøll, Dantherm, Jyske Bank and Dumex, companies who do not want to be mentioned, private donations and a nice profit from the Danish Women’s Network’s Christmas Bazaar in December the playground was put up half a year ago. And it is a success! The mothers are naturally happy with the playground as they don’t have to worry about their children stepping on rusty nails or falling through metal plates worn thin anymore.
The Danish children enjoy the playground immensely too as they can now slide down the shiny slide, take a swing on the swings, alone or two together in the double swing, climb the cool suspension bridge and safely follow their imagination as the playground serves them as school, castle or home in whatever they are playing.
