Finnair To Open Direct Route To Malaysia

Finnair opens the new route as traffic to and from Asia is still increasing.
Just over 14,000 Finns travelled to Malaysia last year and there are already more than 40 Finnish companies operating in Malaysia, such as including Nokia and Jeks, a building construction materials manufacturer.
“Two other high-tech companies are poised to open regional hubs in Malaysia,” according to Korpinen the Finnish Ambassador to Malaysia.

Ever Expanding
Since 1999, Finnair has been steadily expanding its Asian routes, with the Indian capital, New Delhi, as its 10th destination.
Finnair president and CEO Jukka Hienonen said the company flies to China more than twice a day and daily to Bangkok and Japan.
The Finnish focus on Asia is intensifying, especially with Finland taking over the EU presidency this month for the next six months.
Korpinen said that EU’s priorities in Malaysia would include organising an EU Heads of Mission visit to one of the States in Malaysia, promoting inter-religious dialogue, and continuing the dialogue on human rights.
