The new prefix numbers will be available in both the Northern and Southern region due to the overwhelming demand in these areas. Kedah, Penang and Perak are allocated the 014-30 prefix and Johor got the 014-31 prefix.
DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd Head of Prepaid, Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, said “Everything that a 016 and 014-6 prefix number enjoys will be accorded to 014-30 and 014-31 subscribers,”
“We offer the same starter-pack pricing, the same charges, the same quality of service and coverage and the same benefits as 016 and 014-6,” he explained.
On the 014-30 and 014-31 prefixes, Dushyan said DiGi is dispatching the new prepaid SIM packs to the Northern and Southern region as both areas are running short of 016 and the recently launched 014-6 prefix numbers due to increasing demand for DiGi Prepaid.
“We are happy with this development as it shows that more consumers are seeking to use DiGi Prepaid. A sign that realize our product is innovative, easy to use, effective, efficient and affordable,” he said.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission allocated DiGi the new 014-30x xxxx and 014-31x xxxx prefix numbers in response to the industry situation and urgent requirement.
With the new prefix, a DiGi subscriber calling a DiGi subscriber will have to use the prefix 016, 014-6, 014-30 and 014-31 as per the receiver’s prefix number.
