Danish Companies Set to Charm Malaysian Oil and Gas Industry

Arriving in the capitol city of Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday October 31, a series of Danish companies in the oil and gas industry will visit Malaysia for the four-day workshop hosted and arranged by the Danish embassy in Kuala Lumpur in cooperation with the Confederation of Danish Industries (Dansk Industri) and the Danish Offshore Industry. The workshop will run until Friday November 3.
The main objective for the visiting Danish oil and gas suppliers is to meet with the national petroleum company in Malaysia, Petronas, in order to learn more about the business opportunities on the Malaysian market – and, for some of the Danish companies, to possibly get a foot in on that market.

On the first evening of the workshop, the visiting companies will hear the tips and experiences of Danish companies already working directly or indirectly with Petronas or their partners in Malaysia. On Wednesday, the delegation will meet at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre where Denmark’s ambassador, Mr. Børge Petersen, will speak at the opening ceremony – alongside President and CEO of Petronas, Mr. Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd. This will be followed by a presentation by Petronas and, later on, by the Danish Offshore Industry delegation. Thursday and Friday will consist of an additional insight into Petronas’ operations – including visits to various production facilities.
The Danish companies will also have an opportunity to conduct “one on one” meetings with Petronas and their partners in order to discuss specific business interests.
“This workshop will provide insight into the business opportunities within the Malaysian oil and gas sector at large and specifically insight into how to gain business with Petronas and partners,” states the Danish embassy.
“It will hopefully show Petronas executives that Denmark is a golden example of an efficient oil and gas supply chain from well to consumer, and that Danish suppliers are at the forefront of the industry,” the statement goes on.

These opportunities, however, do not come free. The price for each participating company is 11,900 DKK – with an additional 2,000 DKK per person if more than one representative participates.
