Indonesia Showcases in Travel Fair in Sweden

Not only tour agents and travelers from Sweden, but also Scandinavia on March 22-25 had opportunities to take a closer look on Indonesian traditions and buy travel packages from Indonesian booth represented by the Embassy of Indonesia in Stockholm in cooperation with the Java Pavillion in the travel fair TUR Mässan 2007 in Gothenburg.
    During the four-day Fair with the theme of MICE (Meeting, Incentive, exhibition, Convention), Indonesia held press briefing and meeting with participating of 70 travel journalists and Travel Agents from Sweden in order to boost Indonesian Tourism in Sweden and to support the success of “Visit Indonesia Year 2008”.
    The Indonesian booth promoted a combination of Business and Leisure with fabulous conference facilities offered throughout the country, including offer of its famous 27 holes International Championship Golf Courses as a golf paradise for Swedish players. In addition, the stand demonstrated Indonesian cultures such as Batik Painting, traditional dances, as well as delicacy and drinks.
    The figures of Swedish tourist to Indonesia reached about 50.000 people last year and be expected to increase in the future.
    Indonesia was among 100 countries represented in the Fair with estimated of attended 60.000 visitors during the four-day event.
