The maritime industry is important to both countries, so the two leaders agreed it would be useful for academic institutions from both sides to explore opportunities for cooperation in maritime research.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on April 1 at the Istana.
Mr Goh and Mr Store also had a wide-ranging discussion on regional and international issues.
The Norweigan Foreign Minister asked for Mr Goh’s views and assessment of the on-going Iran nuclear crisis, because the Senior Minister visited Iran last month.
They also discussed the situation in Iraq, the Palestinian territories, Southeast Asia, and recent developments in ASEAN, including efforts to promote ASEAN integration.
