The Norwegian conductor Arild Remmereit will appear as guest conductor in the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas in Malaysia from June 15-17.
The music of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) takes on a Scandinavian flavour as orchestra will perform Igor Stravinsky’s Four Norwegian Moods, as well as Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt (selection) and Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No.1 in G minor (Op.7). Appearing as guest soloist for the concerts will be the MPO’s Wolfgang Steike on double bass performing Serge Koussevitzky’s Double Bass Concerto in F sharp minor (Op.3).
