Finland’s Poyry Plc Wins Engineering Contract in Vietnam

Finnish consulting and engineering group Poyry Plc has been awarded an engineering contract valued at US$15.09 million for the Vung Ang power plant project, a 2 x 600 MW coal-fired power plant located some 420 km south of Hanoi in Vietnam by Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (LILAMA) on 23 July.
In a statement released by Erkki Pehu-Lehtonen, President and CEO of Poyry, the Vung Ang power plant project is a key strategic milestone in Pöyry’s activities in Southeast Asia. The assignment further consolidates Pöyry’s position in the area and especially in the rapidly growing Vietnamese energy markets, it says.
Poyry, headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, provides consulting and engineering services to the energy, forest industry, and infrastructure and environment sectors. It has 6,000 employees and annual net sales of US$854.71 and is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.
LILAMA is the leading plant erector in Vietnam with its own manufacturing plants and some 20,000 employees.
