Sweden contributes to humanitarian assistance in Indonesia

In response to an UN appeal for 2003, Sweden has decided to contribute SEK 13 million to humanitarian assistance for IDP’s, internally displaced persons, in Indonesia. The assistance will be directed by SIDA – the Swedish International Aid Agency, to UNICEF, UNDP, WHO and OCHA.
The Swedish contribution will help UNICEF to support further work within the fields of children’s rights, education, health and sanitation. UNDP is supported in it’s programme to repatriate IDP’s to North Moluccas. WHO is supported for continued work in the health sector. OCHA is supported in their role as coordinators.
