SIDA approved 2nd phase of air transport modernization plan in Indonesia

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has approved the second phase of ‘Study on Integrated Modernization Plan for Air Transport in Eastern Indonesia’.
The project will improve the security within the aviation sector, and thereby enable Eastern Indonesia to accommodate a larger amount of air-traffic. The distances within the country will be shortened, and this will hopefully lead to an increase in economic growth and general development in the more remote eastern parts of Indonesia.
The Swedish partner in the project is Swedavia – the international consulting branch of the National Swedish Civil Aviation Administration.
Swedavia – who has been involved in many similar projects around the world and has good international reputation and great experience – will work together with the Indonesian Ministry of Communications.
The second phase of this project runs until 2004.
