The Vietnam Women’s Union presented Christine Elisabeth Johansson, First Secretary of the Swedish Embassy in Vietnam, with a medal “For the Emancipation of Women” at an award ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday 1 July.
She was awarded for her contributions to the implementation of a project on promoting gender equality and strengthening Vietnamese women’s economic capacity.
The Swedish International Development Agency has so far provided 17 million SEK in aid to the country to promote gender equality and improve the role of Vietnamese women in society.
