Swedish Minister to Visit Singapore from Sep 23 to 24

It is part of his trip to the region, including China, South Korea and Singapore, to discuss the challenges of globalization and share experiences on research, development and growth.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Mr Leijonborg will meet students and faculty members from universities and research institutions, such as the Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore.
He will also visit the biomedical research hub and science park Biopolis to find out about A*STAR activities with the Genome Institute and their cooperation with the Karolinksa Institute in Sweden.
The Swedish minister will be able to exchange views and experiences on research and growth issues with Dr Tony Tan, among others, during a dinner.
Mr Leijonborg will meet Education Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and they are expected to focus on issues such as globalization, policies and cooperation between the two countries.
He will also meet members of the Swedish Business Association in Singapore (SBAS) to discuss competitiveness and globalization issues.
