Swedish Photographer Held Exhibition in Vietnam

Forty-five photographs taken by the Swedish photographer Eva Lindskog and Le Thiet Cuong are currently on display at the exhibition “Photos of Vietnam: 80-00” at Hanoi’s Gallery 39 Ly Quoc Su Street.
Eva Lindskog’s 30 photographs were taken in 1982 to 1987 while Cuong’s 15 were taken after 2000.The photographs of Eva Lindskog and Le Thiet Cuong reveal a gracious and sometimes enigmatic country underneath the strain of economic pressure.
Eva Lindskog came to Vietnam in 1980 to work for a Swedish project in the northern mountains when the country was still trapped in its command and control economy and had almost no relations with the rest of the world.
