Celebration on Danish Embassy’s Project on Vietnamese Children’s Literature

Many authors and illustrators gathered at the Exhibition Centre in Hanoi on November 10, 2007 to attend the result announcement for the first campaign of the project on Children’s Literature. On the same day also the exhibition of 80 illustrations from children books of both Danish and Vietnamese illustrators was opened.
After almost two year of implementation, the Project on Children’s Literature has received a fruitful result so far. On the same day at the Exhibition Centre, the Exhibition’s Opening Ceremony of the 80 illustrations from children books of both Danish and Vietnamese illustrators took place.
Under the collaboration between Danish Writers Association, Kim Dong Publishing House and Hanoi Writers Association, a variety on cultural exchange activities have been conducted, including workshops on exchanging writing and illustrating experience between Danish and Vietnamese writers and illustrators.
One year after the launching of Writing Campaign 2006 – 2007 on “Childhood’s Friendship”, many authors and illustrators gathered at the Exhibition Centre in Hanoi to attend the Result Announcement for the first campaign.
From 700 works from both professional and unprofessional writers and illustrators throughout the country, the Judge panel had selected 13 works to be awarded for both stories and illustrated stories.

The awards are part of a cultural programme for children’s literature supported by the Embassy of Denmark, with the overall aim to support the development of Vietnamese children’s literature by strengthening the capacity of Vietnamese authors and illustrators as well as promoting the use of children’s books in education in schools and within the family.
