Denmark’s Carlsberg A/S Raised Its Share in Lao to 70 Percent

On December 17, 2007 Denmark’s Carlsberg A/S said it has raised its share in Laos’s Lao Soft Drink Co Ltd to 70 pct from 50 pct. The remaining 30 pct of shares are held by the Government of Laos.
‘We believe in the brands and in the company’s management. It is a very professionally run operation in every respect, the factory is of international standard, and produces high quality products,’ said Carlsberg.
Lao Soft Drink has a 90 pct market share of the soft drinks market in Laos with brands such as 7-Up and Mirinda.
Carlsberg, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, is one of the world’s largest brewery companies, with over 30,000 employees at 92 production sites in 48 countries. Carlsberg is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Copenhagen.
