Denmark-Based Sonion Group Has Started Operating in Vietnam








A Denmark-based Sonion group has begun a US$25-million audio components facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on January 11, 2008.


According to Sonion Vietnam Co. Ltd., the 11,000-square meter plant in the Saigon Hi-Tech Park produces micro-acoustics, hearing instruments, and professional audio and mobile terminals, including silicon microphones.


Sonion Vietnam general director Tjerk Veenstra said the products would be exported to Asia, North America and Europe.


The company, which has some 1,200 employees, targets exports of $30 million this year.
