Indonesian Children To Join The Summer Village In Finland

On
Wednesday 18th of June four enthusiastic Indonesian children arrived to the
residence of Ambassador Antti Koistinen for a visit.
The theme of the visit was ´Orientation to
Finland´ before these four children will fly to Finland on 23rd of June where they
are going to attend the Summer Village Camp which takes place in Naantali and
lasts for a month. The organizer of The Summer Village is CISV- Finland
(Children’s International Summer Villages).

    In the
Summer Village Aisayah, Amrah, Andrew and Shaun are going to take part in
different kinds of activities for example national evenings, trips etc. The
children were especially interested in the weekend  they will spend with a  Finnish family. These 11 year- old children
were also looking forward to all the new friends they are going to make during
the summer camp. Children from 12 different countries will attend The Summer
Village.

    With the
exception of Nokia handphones children did not know much about Finland
yet. After the visit to the Ambassador’s residence children will remember at
least the capital city of Finland
and the Moominworld amusement park.  After
the summer  the programme is going to
continue in Indonesia.
For example, CISV Indonesia  will
organize a similar camp for Indonesian children who did not have an opportunity
to go to Finland
this time.

CISV is a
global community of dedicated volunteers creating opportunities for all ages to
experience the excitement and enrichment of cultural diversity through
educational programmes. CISV is founded on the belief that peace is possible
through friendship – and this process should start with children.
