Sct. Hans Feast in Bangkok

Elleven families gathered on Monday 23 June at the Scandinavian Church in Bangkok on the invitation of Margretheklubben – Danish Women’s Network – to celebrate a traditional Danish Sct. Hans feast.
The newsletter of Margretheklubben reports, that 21 grown ups and 24 children enjoyed the bonfire toasting bread on a stick over the fire and the barbecue with burgere, sausages and salad which was served later. After the dinner, ice cream was served for the children while the grown ups enjoyed coffee and home made cake.
The traditional bonfire speech was this year held Helle Rantsen, chairwoman of Margretheklubben and finally, everybody sang along on the midsummer song “Vi elsker vort land..”
The newsletter also mentions, that members of Margretheklubben will during the new season meet on Tuesdays for coffee/tea morning at 10 o’clock instead of previously on Wednesdays. In October, the morning will be hosted on Tuesday 7 at Lene Andersen, and in November Gitte Zebitz will be the host.
On Wednesdays, members with children between 0 and 11 years of age will meet. These meetings are held at the members home on a rotating basis.
Anyone interested in joining the Club and these events should contact Helle Rantsen on +66 38 880 765 / or +66 1 636 8165, email [email protected]
