Singapore’s SembCorp Marine Unit Wins $400 Million Contract From Maersk

Singapore shipyard operator SembCorp Marine
Ltd. said on Tuesday its unit SMOE has won a $400-million contract from Maersk
Olie og Gas AS,
a unit of Danish shipping and oil group A.P. Moller-Maersk, to build an
offshore platform on the North Sea.
    Construction
of the platform is expected to start in November, with onshore completion by
June 1, 2010.
    This is the
third project awarded to SMOE by Maersk Olie for operations on the North Sea.
    SembCorp
Marine said the contract is not expected to have any material impact on its
earnings for the current financial year.
