Denmark Helps Upgrade Housing For Poor Workers

Construction
has started on a Danish-funded project to upgrade the environmental conditions
of a four-storey building for poor workers in northern mountainous Thai Nguyen
province.
    The project
is being carried out in Mo Che ward, Song Cong town at an investment capital of
almost 6.9 billion VND with 5.2 8 billion VND coming from the Support Committee
of Denmark’s environmentally sustainable development in poor urban areas (SDU)
and the remaining from the local budget.
    After six
months of construction, the upgraded building will have a new waste water and
sewage system, a playground for children and roads.
    The SDU
component funded by the Danish Government is part of the Vietnam-Denmark
development cooperation programme for urban environment in the 2005-2010
period.
