Finnish and Scandinavian Design on Display in Singapore

Finnish and Scandinavian design is widely on display in Singapore. Style:Nordic is a design store that specializes in Finnish, Swedish and Danish design. The design store’s range consists, among others, of Iittala and Artek. It has been in business for a couple of years.
Right now the fall/winter season by Swedish designer Filippa K is on sale at Style:Nordic. It’s inspired by early seventies’ punk with icons like Nico from Velvet Underground and Joe Strummer from the Clash as inspiration for the design.
Singaporean Friven & CO is a store chain concentrating on interior design, which recently opened a new store called Friven & CO@Tanglin specializing in design. The new store has a wide selection of Scandinavian labels including Scandi@Friven (by Pirjo Kaariainen), Tonfisk Design and Normann-Copenhagen. It also has a nounou collection of Finnish glass artist Anu Penttinen on display at the Friven & CO@Tanglin -store. Anu Penttinen was an invited guest of the store’s opening in late-July.
