Norwegian Embassy in
has decided to give financial support to Jakarta International Film Festival
(jiffest). The festival will last from 5 – 14 December 2008.
Norwegian movie business is growing and several movies have had considerable
success internationally, so an integral part of the cooperation is the showing
of Norwegian films during the festival.
On the list of wants is the movie
“Reprise” by Mr Joachim Trier, but no decision is yet take as to
which movies will be represented at the festival. Jiffest will also invite an
experienced Norwegian movie maker to come to
connection with the festival.
International Film festival will also send a representative to the Norwegian
Film Festival in Haugesund in order to make contacts within the Norwegian movie
industry. Hopefully, this is the first step in a closer cultural cooperation
